Ph.D. in the history of mathematics from the Institute of Natural Science History, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1990. In the same year, he became an editor of Science Press, and from 1994 to 2002, he was a director of the National Society for the History of Mathematics.
Based on the beginning of the modern science, this series covers mainly disciplines in humanities and science to describe the subject history under the uniformity of written format, thereupon, shows a human-oriented academic thought to the various cross-linking subjects. The book divides into twenty volumes including Chinese philosophy, mathematics, and jurisprudence etc.
