Nanjing University Press is a leading academic publisher in China. Founded in 1984, the Press is one of the nation’s oldest university presses. It is a division of Nanjing University and has approximately 200 dedicated staff members. In addition to publishing influential books for academic audiences and general readers, the Press publishes children’s books, teen and young adult books, and textbooks.

The Press’s mission is to promote the best of Chinese culture and introduce significant works of other civilizations to Chinese readers. We commit to disseminate scholarly ideas of the highest standard. We strive to bring meaningful voices of Chinese writers and intellectuals, both historical and contemporary, to readers everywhere through collaborating with top-tier presses around the globe. The Press publishes clear and accurate works in translation that we believe shaped fields of inquiry or can serve a general readership.

Recognizing the obligation to improve the accessibility of knowledge, the Press seeks to become a diversified and multi-functioned publishing platform of print books, audio and video products, and electronic publications.
