As a benchmark for French to Chinese book translation, the 14th Prix Fu Lei will be held in Beijing from November 19 to 20, 2022. At a press conference held at the French Cultural Center on October 27, Dong Qiang, Chairman of Prix Fu Lei Organizing Committee, unveiled the 10 finalists for this year. A total of three works from Nanjing University Press were shortlisted: Le Temps des cathédrales: L'art et la société, 980-1420 in the social sciences category, Quel petit vélo à guidon chromé au fond de la cour? and Le Roman Comique were shortlisted in the literature category.

Since its inception, the Prix Fu Lei has received the support from many cultural luminaries, represented by two Nobel Prize winners, Le Clezio and Mo Yan. With the aim of honoring translators who act as cultural ferrymen, the Prix Fu Lei promotes cultural exchanges between France and China. This year's Prix Fu Lei received a total of 32 works for consideration, with half of the works in the social sciences category and half in the literature category, and this year's finalists, as always, fully reflecting the diverse vitality of China's contemporary French translation community.
